In an interview with Empire magazine, the actress said that she was ready to wear a costume as close as possible to the animated version, but the creators decided to modernize the image.
In the original 1980s animated series, Teela appeared in a rather revealing outfit — with a deep neckline and completely exposed legs. According to Mendes, in the new film adaptation, this option was considered inappropriate.
"I wasn't against it, but they decided it would be a little silly if a warrior was walking around in a swimsuit among all these big, strong men."
As a result, the heroine was given a more practical costume, including pants.
The premiere of "Masters of the Universe" in worldwide distribution will take place on June 5.
