Ember Lab co-founder Josh Grier stated:
Partnering with PS Studios has empowered us to create an even bigger world.
The game, scheduled for release in 2026, will offer expanded regions and an "epic adventure feel" that was unavailable in the first part due to budget constraints. The scale and detail of the project promise a serious step forward.
New mechanics will also impress. Scars of Kosmora will introduce a "fusion of elements" system. By unlocking new Spirit Companions, players will be able to combine elements – fire, nature, and wind, opening up new possibilities in combat and puzzle-solving, similar to the system from Genshin Impact.
For PS5 owners, this is a signal: Kena is ceasing to be a cute indie project and is turning into a full-fledged blockbuster. Sony needs a strong single-player game, and an adventure in the world of Kosmora could become the "dark horse" of 2026.
