The plot description appeared in the announcement of the artbook for the fourth solo Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland.

Marvel has revealed the first plot details for the film “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day.” The official synopsis is published in the description of the artbook The Art of the Movie, which will be released on August 4 and traditionally accompanies major studio releases. The text implies that the events will unfold four years after the finale of “No Way Home.”

“Four years have passed since we last saw our friendly neighborhood hero. Peter Parker is gone, but Spider-Man is in top form and keeps the peace in New York. Our anonymous hero is doing well until an unusual chain of crimes draws him into a web of mysteries far greater than anything he has faced before. To cope with what lies ahead, Spider-Man must not only be in excellent physical and mental shape, but also be ready to face his past.”

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” The script was once again written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who worked on the previous trilogy. Tom Holland returns to the role of Peter Parker.

The cast also includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, Marvin Jones III, Jacob Batalon, and Lisa Colon-Zayas. Florence Pugh is also expected to appear as Yelena Belova.

According to insiders, the first trailer may be released in March or April. The premiere of “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day” is scheduled for July 31, 2026.
