Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 topped the list of best-selling games in January

PS5 became the best-selling console last month, surpassing Switch 2. Statistics for the US market.

In January 2026, the PlayStation 5 console became the best-selling device in the US, surpassing the new Nintendo Switch 2. This is according to data from the analytical company Circana.

According to the report, PS5 led in both the number of devices sold and in revenue in monetary terms. Switch 2 took second place. At the same time, compared to January 2025, PS5 sales decreased by 17%, Xbox Series X/S sales fell by 27%, and the original Nintendo Switch fell by 79%.

Nevertheless, the launch of Switch 2 helped to compensate for the decline: the total amount of spending on gaming "hardware" in the US in January increased by 16% and reached $248 million.

In the software segment, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 remained the sales leader in the US in January. NBA 2K26 retained the second line. The most successful new release of the month was Code Vein 2, which debuted in 11th place — which is remarkable for a traditionally "quiet" January in terms of high-profile premieres.
