Mark Healey, co-founder of Media Molecule, the developer of LittleBigPlanet, is not impressed by the popular trend of "cozy" games. In an interview, he noted that while he understands the interest in them during COVID, he finds such projects boring.
A lot of people love cozy games - they became especially popular during COVID. I understand their appeal, but I think it's much more interesting to add a little brutality to break up the boredom.
The game he is currently working on, Masters of Albion, combines two sides: "coziness by day and chaos by night," Healey noted. Another former Lionhead employee, Russell Shaw, who returned to work with Peter Molyneux on Masters of Albion, agrees with Healey: the project offers a unique experience.
Masters of Albion will be released on April 22, 2026 on PC.
