According to insider TheGhostofHope, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was being considered as a key launch project for the new Xbox. The game was supposed to demonstrate the platform's capabilities and compete for audience attention with Grand Theft Auto VI. The postponement of the console's release adjusted the publisher's marketing strategy.
A scenario with the simultaneous release of two projects in the series at the start of the device is also being discussed. In addition to the Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer, players are allegedly preparing a separate game entirely dedicated to the Zombie mode, for which Treyarch is responsible. A similar model has already been used at the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare along with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
Microsoft is also allegedly planning to change the structure of Activision's work and abandon the rigid scheme of annual releases. We are talking about a more flexible production model and a quick response to market trends, including the development of the DMZ mode against the backdrop of the growing popularity of extraction shooters.
