The creation history of The Wolf Among Us 2 spans almost a decade and is increasingly reminiscent of a thriller.

In 2019, veterans from AdHoc Studio were brought in to write the script for the entire season. In 2023, the team left due to creative differences. At that time, it seemed that the game was finished.
But, according to the PressOver portal for March 2026, the sequel underwent another hard reboot. It is now being developed jointly with a studio from Argentina. Sources claim that in late 2025, Telltale representatives visited South America to launch production, starting from scratch. The name of the partner is kept secret to "protect the team from undue pressure."
