NVIDIA Fails Again: New RTX Drivers Break Overclocking and Resident Evil Requiem

NVIDIA has suffered a reputational blow in recent days. The company failed to release stable drivers for one of the biggest premieres of 2026, Resident Evil Requiem.

The first versions were so unsuccessful that they were quickly removed from distribution. NVIDIA released a corrected package under the number 595.71. But problems arose with it too.

The VideoCardz portal reported that with drivers 595.71, RTX video cards do not reach full frequencies when overclocking the GPU – the current limit is about 2950 MHz. It seems that the voltage is limited to 0.95–0.975 V. As a result, benchmark scores, including FurMark, have become lower. The problem only affects users with overclocking.

That's not all. Players complain about graphical artifacts and lighting errors even in Resident Evil Requiem, for which the new drivers were released.

It is also reported that with path tracing enabled, the frame rate in Requiem is higher on the old 577.0 drivers than on the "special" 595.71. At least the video card fans are now working correctly.
