Random Events Like in GTA Will Appear in SAMSON - New Details Revealed

The debut game from Liquid Swords studio, Samson: A Tyndalston Story, will be released on April 8, 2026. Senior game designer Donald Young revealed the project's key principles in an interview.

The game focuses on "intensity over scale." The developers are not aiming for a huge map, but want to create a dense and rich world so that players eventually memorize the street names of the fictional Tyndalston. The city should not be a backdrop, but a place whose problems and structure the player will study thoroughly.

The centerpiece of the gameplay will be the Magnum Opus, the hero's unique car. The car will have to be repaired after collisions and refueled with nitrous oxide at gas stations.

Among the mechanics are the "Kickdown" function (downshifting for high revs, suitable for ramming and drifting), the ability to stall the engine while hiding from the police, and the trunk as a hiding place for weapons. The player only controls cars, which emphasizes their key role.

Missions are divided into eight types – equally split between on-foot and driving. The Story Deck system creates dynamic events and moral dilemmas. Helping a random resident during surveillance will bring satisfaction, but will deprive you of time and money for your daily debt.

The pressure mechanic, from minute-long tasks to daily obligations, will be the basis of the game. If Samson doesn't pay, collectors will appear in his path.
