Sega's management has admitted that high critical acclaim and positive reviews do not always lead to increased sales. The company hopes to improve the situation through marketing, promotions, and subscriptions.
Sega stated in a series of questions and answers during a conversation with investors:
Although the development costs of our key projects are lower than those of AAA games, our strength lies in high quality scores. On the other hand, we understand that such high scores have not yet led to increased sales.
The company continues to improve development but sees significant potential in "sales power," that is, in marketing and sales mechanisms.
In this area, we are implementing reforms to increase sales.
The company is expected to make more frequent use of seasonal discounts and promotions, as well as new subscription offers, to stimulate game sales growth.
