A new map called "Avalon" has appeared in the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone, but its launch was not particularly noisy and has already caused mixed reactions from players. With its appearance, the map "Verdansk" was removed from the game, which in itself was an unpleasant surprise for part of the community.
The new map actually comes from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and is an evolution of the classic "Eclipse" map, which first appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in 2018. Despite the interesting concept, the first reviews from players were mixed, but generally rather negative.
One of the main sources of discontent was that the developers temporarily removed all other Warzone modes, leaving only the new Black Ops Royale playlist, which uses the "Avalon" map. For players not interested in the novelty, this was a serious disadvantage.
In addition, the mode lacks the usual kits — now players have to rely exclusively on weapons and equipment found on the map. Some users have compared the new experience to a hybrid of Fortnite and REDSEC mode.
The size of the lobby was also criticized. The maximum number of players has been reduced to 100 people, while the map itself remains quite large. According to some fans, this makes the pace of matches seem uneven, and battles occur too rarely.
