The updated version of the scaling technology is already used in Resident Evil Requiem.
Remedy has confirmed that Control Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 will receive support for the updated PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) scaling technology on PlayStation 5 Pro.
The improved version of PSSR was released earlier this month and is already being used in some games, starting with Resident Evil Requiem from Capcom. In Remedy games, it should provide higher image quality, as well as "noticeable improvements in image stability and motion clarity".
The updated version of PSSR will be enabled separately, so users who don't like it will be able to continue playing the current versions for PlayStation 5 Pro without changes. The exact release date of the update has not yet been announced, but Remedy promises to release it "in the near future".
