In the two weeks after its early access release, the game surpassed Hades 2 and Hollow Knight: Silksong in revenue.
Slay the Spire 2 has shown one of the strongest starts among indie games in Steam history. According to estimates from the analytical company Alinea Analytics, in the first two weeks after its early access release, the project sold approximately 4.6 million copies and generated over $92 million in revenue.
Thus, the sequel has already surpassed such indie hits as Hades 2 ($82 million) and Hollow Knight: Silksong ($83 million) in total Steam revenue.
Analysts note the high level of wishlist conversion to purchases. During the first week after release, about 31% of users who added the game to their wishlist purchased it, and after two weeks the figure rose to 34%. For comparison, a level within 7-10% is considered successful.
Factors contributing to the success include accumulated interest in the sequel, active communication from the developers at Mega Crit with the community, and a strong presence in the Chinese market. It is estimated that players from China account for more than a third of the audience.
Slay the Spire 2 was released in early access on March 5, 2026. The full release is expected later, but the project is already claiming the status of one of the main indie hits of the year.
