The studio clarified that such tools only speed up processes and help with prototyping, while the final version of the game will be 100% made by real people.
Representatives of Owlcat Games confirmed in a conversation with journalists that they are using generative AI in the development of The Expanse: Osiris Reborn — but with an important caveat. According to PR manager Katarina Popp, such tools are used exclusively in the early stages of development.
We don't use AI to create assets that will end up in the final version of the game. We need it for prototyping, testing ideas, and creating temporary placeholders that are then completely replaced.
The studio also clarified that AI helps speed up technical experiments — for example, when checking how a 2D image will look in 3D, or when selecting color schemes. At the same time, the developers emphasize that all final content — including the script and voice acting — is created exclusively by people, without the participation of AI.
