The new adaptation of the iconic 1980s franchise will hit theaters in the summer of 2026.
Amazon MGM and Mattel Studios have unveiled the first full trailer for "Masters of the Universe," a reboot of the iconic 80s franchise with live actors.
The film tells the story of Prince Adam. He spent many years on Earth, away from his homeland, Eternia. After 15 years, the Sword of Power calls him home, but upon returning, Adam discovers that the planet is destroyed and Skeletor has seized power. To save the kingdom and his family, he unites with allies and embraces the destiny of He-Man, the strongest man in the universe and the protector of Eternia.
The film stars Nicholas Galitzine (Adam/He-Man), Camila Mendes (Teela), Jared Leto (Skeletor), and Idris Elba (Duncan). The cast also includes Morena Baccarin (Sorceress), James Purefoy (King Randor), Charlotte Riley (Queen Marlena), and Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn).
Travis Knight, known for "Bumblebee," directed the film, and a team of writers, including Chris Butler ("Kubo and the Two Strings") and Dave Callaham ("Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," "Mortal Kombat," "Godzilla"), worked on the script.
The premiere of "Masters of the Universe" will take place on June 5, 2026.
