Masayoshi Yokoyama, head of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, responsible for the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, has responded to Jack Black's recent comments about wanting to star in a Yakuza adaptation. He wrote on social media that he can't think of a suitable role for the actor yet and doesn't even know how to contact him, but doesn't rule out trying to make contact.

Earlier, Black said in an interview that he was ready to consider any role in a potential Yakuza adaptation. The actor ironically described himself as a "chubby American" and suggested that Sega "contact him" if a suitable option was found.

Currently, there are no confirmed plans for a new Yakuza adaptation. The franchise has previously tried its hand in a series format, but the future of the project remains uncertain. Nevertheless, the very fact of a public exchange of remarks shows that even in the absence of concrete plans, cooperation is theoretically possible — including in the form of a cameo in one of the future games in the series.
