The creators will let viewers peek behind the scenes of the new interpretation of J.K. Rowling's magical world.
HBO has unveiled a trailer for the documentary special Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic, dedicated to the making of the Harry Potter series. It will premiere on April 5 on the streaming service and on HBO's broadcast channel.
The special will show the project's behind-the-scenes process — from building sets to the work of production designers and costume designers, as well as the first footage from filming. Special attention will be paid to the painstaking search for new actors to play Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
The special includes interviews with the cast and crew. Among them are John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, and Paapa Essiedu. The voice-over narration is read by Nick Frost, who also plays Hagrid.
The series is being developed for HBO based on J.K. Rowling's books. The first season, based on Philosopher's Stone, will be released at the end of 2026 and will mark the beginning of a long-term adaptation of the entire series.
