After a hiatus, One Piece starts with a new arc and an updated release format.
The One Piece anime has returned to the air after a hiatus and immediately transitioned to a new story arc. Episode 1156 opens "Elbaf" — the 33rd story arc, in which the Straw Hat Pirates, along with the Giant Warrior Pirates, set off to the legendary land of giants.
The return effectively marks the start of a conditional "second season," the key difference of which is a new episode release model. Now, episodes will be shown in blocks of 26 episodes per year. Each block will be divided into two parts of 13 episodes. Episodes will be released on Sundays, with a short break between parts (cours).
This step should give the manga more time to develop and solve long-standing problems with the pace of narration in the anime.
