Since its release, players have complained about the lack of a smooth entry into the atmosphere: instead of freely descending to the surface, they had to watch loading screens, which disappointed many.
Bethesda promised to fix the issue, and a recent update has indeed improved the system for moving between planets and the moment of descent from orbit to the surface.
However, a complete, smooth landing is still not available: players first select a point on the map, and then a transfer to the planet occurs. The mechanics have become more convenient, but the foundation remains the same.
Starfield continues to be compared to No Man’s Sky online. The 2016 game, after many updates, allows you to freely descend from orbit to the planet without loading screens. That is why some fans believe that Bethesda still has a lot to improve.
