Sony has entered into a major agreement with the directing duo Zak Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, who previously directed "Final Destination: Blood Ties" and effectively revived the franchise, which was considered dead. As part of the deal, their company Wonderlab will develop projects for various divisions of the studio — both those that the duo will shoot themselves and films for other directors.
The first project will be an adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, which is being developed by Sony and Columbia Pictures. Lipovsky and Stein will direct, but details of the project have not yet been disclosed. It is unknown which part of the series will form the basis of the film, when production will begin, and what the expected release date is.
