Marvel Studios is preparing a reboot of "X-Men" that should be radically different from the films of the 20th Century Fox era. The project's director, Jake Schreier, stated that the team is focused on creating "something new" and intends to explore aspects of the mutant universe that have previously been sidelined.

The main task is not simply to repeat the success of previous films, but to offer viewers a different experience. According to Schreier, the team is primarily discussing, "how to make everything feel new while surpassing what came before". He emphasizes that the franchise has already come a long way on screen, so now it is important to look for new themes, conflicts, and directions.

"This series has achieved incredible things and has been very successful in many ways. Now the question is, what other aspects of this universe can we show and what elements of the lore can we explore to bring viewers to something new."

The director does not reveal specific details, but notes that he is actively studying the classic Chris Claremont comic book series, which covers more than 20 years of mutant stories. At the same time, key storylines such as "Days of Future Past" and "The Dark Phoenix" have already been adapted, albeit with varying degrees of accuracy, so the team is unlikely to return to them.

Other iconic storylines remain in the arsenal, including "Inferno", "Mutant Massacre", and "God Loves, Man Kills". The latter two seem particularly relevant against the backdrop of rumors about the appearance of Sinister, as well as Kevin Feige's words that the central theme of "X-Men" will remain their otherness – stories about heroes who do not fit into society.

Official details of the project are still being kept secret. The film is expected to be released in 2028 and will be one of the first major projects of the new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
