Marvel is looking at candidates for key roles in the new version of the X-Men.
There has been noticeable activity around the X-Men reboot from Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier in recent days, indicating that work on the project is in an active phase.
According to insider Jeff Sneider, Marvel Studios is considering Odessa A'zion ("Until Dawn", "Marty Supreme") for the role of Rogue. Margaret Qualley was also previously mentioned among the possible candidates. At the same time, World of Reel notes that the interest in A'zion may be driven by pragmatism — she would cost the studio less.
However, for now this is only preliminary interest — no negotiations are underway, as the project is at an early stage of production.
It recently became known that Beef writers Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo have joined the project and are rewriting Michael Lesslie's draft ("The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes", "Now You See Me 3"). Based on their comments, it can be concluded that the final version of the story and the mutant lineup have not yet been finalized.
The premiere of the new X-Men is not expected before 2028.
