The discussion quickly spread online, where users criticized the studio and expressed concerns that the future remake of the anime One Piece, which it is also working on, might turn out to be "neuro-slop."
The studio reacted promptly, conducted an internal audit, and confirmed the audience's guesses, issuing an official statement. In it, Wit Studio apologized to the viewers and the author of the original light novel, Miya Kazuki. The company emphasized that they do not use generative AI in production and do not allow its use, and called the incident a failure in the quality control system.
