Most of the money will be spent on youth initiatives in the state.

The Roblox platform has reached an agreement with the authorities of the state of Nevada, under which it will pay more than $12 million to strengthen child safety measures on its platform.

According to Reuters, the agreement provides for an investment of $10 million over three years in youth initiatives in the state, as well as an additional $2.5 million in online safety programs and the creation of a special role for interaction with law enforcement agencies.

According to the Associated Press, key measures include tightening age verification for users, monitoring account activity, and restricting nighttime notifications for minors. In addition, the company will strengthen parental controls, introduce chat restrictions for users under 16, and abandon message encryption for children.

These changes are expected to be implemented nationwide by the beginning of June. The agreement was reached as a result of a dialogue with the Nevada authorities and avoided litigation.
