The screenwriter of the upcoming series set in the Mass Effect universe denied reports that the project was being reworked for viewers unfamiliar with video games.
Earlier, The Ankler reported that the series, being developed for Amazon Prime Video, was allegedly undergoing script changes to make it more accessible to a broader audience. The publication claimed that the initiative came from the head of Amazon's global television division, Peter Friedlander, who is actively involved in approving revisions for various projects on the platform.
However, the show's screenwriter and producer Daniel Casey denied these claims, noting that such rumors came as a surprise to him.
I can't discuss the details of what I'm working on (NDAs have been signed and so on), but The Ankler article surprised me just as much as it did you. I don't know where the quote about "non-gamers" came from or who said it, but no one ever told me about it.
