Will PlayStation Get a Concord Successor? Insider Reveals Fairgames' Problems

It seems Fairgame$ will be another major failure in PlayStation's portfolio. The situation with the game, announced several years ago, continues to worsen, and a recent change in direction hasn't helped.

A few days ago, reports emerged that Fairgame$ for PS5 and PC from Haven Studio is still in development. According to Tom Henderson, the project, initiated under the leadership of Jade Raymond, recently underwent significant changes and received an extraction shooter-style mode. However, this did not alleviate the problems that have plagued the game for a long time.

The editor of Insider Gaming received new data about the project, which was shown to selected players in pre-alpha. The journalist obtained recordings of tests of the Cargo Heist mode. They show players divided into four teams of three, sent to a large estate where they need to crack a vault, take the money, and escape. The game feels reminiscent of The Division and Call of Duty with a heist mode: this is indicated by wall grabs, wall running, and character classes.

The main difference in Cargo Heist is the ability to respawn. According to testers' feedback, respawns kill the sense of risk crucial for extraction shooters. Because of this, the mode is called boring or unfinished. Players often left matches midway, or at best, after a few games.
