Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred to be released in April without a competitor - Path of Exile 2 developers postponed the release of a major update
Players will have time to get acquainted with the Diablo IV DLC before the launch of the next PoE 2 update.
The release of the Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is approaching, and fans of another ARPG will have to wait. The developers of Path of Exile 2 will release a major update next month.
Grinding Gear Games community manager explained that the delay is due to the scale of the update:
This update promises to be one of the biggest we've ever released – it just needs a little more time to 'cook'!
The release of the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion is expected on April 27, 2026. The developers will introduce a new region and a couple of classes:
Embark on a decisive battle with the great embodiment of evil Mephisto in a new exciting campaign, master two new classes, Paladin and Warlock, and explore a new region – ancient Skovos. You will find many new game mechanics and activities, as well as global updates to old mechanics: the endgame, transmutation, and set bonuses will be reworked.
Grinding Gear Games recently unveiled a teaser for the Path of Exile 2 update and announced a May presentation. The release is scheduled for May 29, 2026.
