Disney has released the first episode of the animated series "Star Wars. Darth Maul: Shadow Conspiracy" for free on YouTube. The decision appears to be an attempt to attract new audiences before the final episodes of the first season are released.
The series takes place after the events of the Clone Wars and Order 66. Maul tries to regain influence, rebuild his criminal empire, and encounters a disillusioned padawan whom he intends to use for his own purposes.
Recall that "Shadow Conspiracy" received 98% approval from critics and 90% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes, and also became one of Disney+'s most successful releases recently.
After its premiere on April 6, the series topped the platform's charts and held the lead for a long time, only yielding it to the "The Acolyte" project. However, the situation may still change in favor of "Shadow Conspiracy" after the release of the two final episodes on May 4.
