New details continue to emerge about the film "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum". One of them concerns a key female role. Recently, the cast of the film was officially presented at CinemaCon, but Anya Taylor-Joy was not among the names announced. However, insiders still claim that she plays the main female role in the project.

According to Daniel Richtman, the actress's character is named Serene. This may indicate a new character who was not in J.R.R. Tolkien's works.

This information is still unofficial, but a theory has already emerged among fans that Serene could be a code name. According to this version, it hides Arwen, daughter of Elrond, who was played by Liv Tyler in the original trilogy.

The events of "The Hunt for Gollum" will unfold between "The Hobbit" and "The Fellowship of the Ring", when Gandalf tasks Aragorn with finding Gollum. Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood will return to their roles. Gollum will again be played by Andy Serkis, who also serves as director, and a young Aragorn will be played by Jamie Dornan, who replaced Viggo Mortensen.

The premiere of "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum" is scheduled for December 17, 2027.
