New save system and improved optimization added to pirate game Windrose

The problem with cloud saves should now be gone.

The developers of the PvE pirate game Windrose continue to improve the technical state of the project. Recently, they introduced patch "0.10.0.5.120-073042fb", which implements a new system for storing and backing up saves in the game.

Now the game will automatically create data backups every 10 minutes of gameplay, as well as when exiting the game.

  • The save file structure for cloud synchronization has been updated to reduce the likelihood of potential errors.
  • The developers noted that corrupted save files will no longer block the game from launching.
  • If the system detects damage to the last world or character save upon launch, a special recovery window will appear. The player will be able to exit the game (to synchronize with the "cloud") or restore data from a backup. The game will automatically suggest the most relevant available version.
  • A mechanism for transferring old save files (up to version 0.10.0.5.120-073042fb) to the new format has been implemented in the game. In most cases, this process is performed automatically and imperceptibly to the player.

The creators of Windrose also said that they fixed a bug where pressing "left" on the D-pad of the gamepad was incorrectly bound to the "Take All" action in the crafting station interface.

An update with a new biome, "Ashlands," is being prepared for Windrose, but its release is not expected for at least six months. Previously, the developers improved optimization, for example, "excessive CPU usage on inactive servers and clients was eliminated."
