AMD is preparing another monster? Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D spotted in database

The AMD Ryzen PRO processor line, designed for workstations and professional tasks, has long been limited to 12 cores.

However, new data suggests an expansion of the series. A Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D processor has appeared in the PassMark database. It combines Zen 5 architecture and 3D V-Cache technology and offers 16 physical cores.

The entry indicates 32 MB of L3 cache, while the consumer Ryzen 9 9950X3D has 128 MB. This is likely a measurement error or incorrect memory detection in the testing software.

Tests show that the new product is 7.3% slower in multi-threaded tasks and 2.7% weaker in single-threaded tasks than a similar consumer chip.

This is explained by the power profile: the business line is traditionally limited to 65W, while consumer versions operate at 170W, which directly affects performance.

However, rumors previously suggested that this processor might have a 170W limit, so the final specifications are not yet confirmed.

In any case, the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D looks like a powerful solution for professionals with an emphasis on performance and enterprise security features.
