Artist Recreates Ald'ruhn from TES III: Morrowind in Unreal Engine 5 and Shows the Result

The creator decided to revisit one of Morrowind's cities, which was built using the shell of a giant crab.

Artist L.Torres (Leo Torres) continues to delight The Elder Scrolls fans with his creative experiments using the Unreal Engine 5. He previously showcased some recreated locations from TES V: Skyrim, and now he has worked on an older installment of the franchise.

This time, Leo Torres invited players to take a stroll through Ald'ruhn — one of the cities in the world of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind:

It is the capital of the island holdings of House Redoran, one of the Great Houses of Morrowind, and one of the largest cities on the island of Vvardenfell, second in size only to Vivec and Balmora. Its name, translated from Dunmeri, means “Elder House” or “House of Elders.” The city is divided into two parts: the main part and the manor district, or Skar, located inside the shell of one of the now-extinct giant crabs. Sometimes a third district of the city is also distinguished, which includes the nearby Imperial Fort of the Moth Legion, built south of the city, outside the city walls, and where the local branch of the Imperial Cult is located.

The artist clarified that when recreating Ald'ruhn, he allowed for “a little creative freedom,” but overall, he “tried to adhere to the aesthetics of the original game and develop it further, building upon it.” The work was done using Unreal Engine 5.7.4, and the PC is equipped with an RTX 3090 graphics card.
