007 First Light hasn't been released yet, but developers are already discussing a sequel

There's less and less time left until the release of 007 First Light, and fans are already wondering about a possible sequel to the new James Bond game.

IO Interactive head Hakan Abrak stated that a sequel is quite possible, but everything will depend on player feedback. In an interview, he explained that the studio first wants to see how much the audience likes the young Agent 007, who is just starting his career at MI6.

If the character is well-received and players want a sequel, IO Interactive is ready to return to the universe. Abrak noted that the studio chooses its own projects and no one will force the team to make a sequel against its will.

At the same time, initial industry feedback is already inspiring optimism. Representatives of Amazon, who acquired the rights to the James Bond franchise after purchasing MGM, have already familiarized themselves with the game and are satisfied with its quality.

According to Abrak, Amazon's management quickly became "big fans" of IO Interactive's spy vision.

007 First Light will be released on May 27, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be released on Switch 2 in the summer.
