According to Origami, the company has put another subsidiary studio, Midgar Studios, which is currently working on Edge of Memories, up for sale. Notably, this information emerged just a day after the project received a prominent spot at the Nacon Connect 2026 presentation.
It is currently unknown what awaits Midgar if a buyer is not found. Nacon previously failed to sell Spiders studio, known for GreedFall, after which the team was closed. Now, a similar scenario could threaten Midgar.
The situation looks particularly alarming against the backdrop of a general crisis in the gaming industry, where the number of mergers and acquisitions has significantly decreased. According to sources, Nacon is trying to avoid another studio closure, but such an outcome remains quite real.
Problems also affect other divisions of the publisher. Earlier reports indicated that Big Bad Wolf studio, working on Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, might be on the verge of closure, although there is no official confirmation yet. Additionally, there are rumors of staff reductions at Kylotonn studio.
