Four Video Game Series Added to the Video Game Hall of Fame in 2026

The Strong National Museum of Play has been building the World Video Game Hall of Fame for over a decade, featuring the most iconic games in history. Over the years, Tetris, World of Warcraft, Resident Evil, and other projects have been inducted. Now, the new inductees for 2026 have been announced.

This year, four games were inducted into the Hall of Fame. The main choice was Dragon Quest — a series that is already 40 years old and effectively shaped the JRPG genre.

Next up is Silent Hill. The series is considered one of the key contributors to the development of the survival horror genre, although its modern influence is not as widespread as some of its competitors.

The third project was FIFA International Soccer — the game that started one of the most popular sports series in the world. Although the FIFA brand has now changed to EA Sports FC, the influence of the original series remains significant.

Rounding out the list is Angry Birds — one of the most famous mobile games, which has gathered millions of players worldwide since its release.

The full list of inductees and details about each project are available in the museum's materials.
