Escape from Tarkov: Arena Launches Experimental Mode and Increases Rewards for ShootOut Matches
The developers decided to try to speed up matches in the game's team mode.
In May, the developers of the online shooter Escape from Tarkov: Arena introduced balance changes and launched a new round of game testing. Participants of the May playtest are invited to evaluate the modified version of the TeamFight mode:
Our team has reworked the timings of all main match stages to make rounds more dynamic and reduce waiting time.
Some changes:
- The capture point now appears 20–40 seconds after the gates open, depending on the Arena size.
- The cleanup crew appears only 60 seconds after the capture point appears.
- Toxin activation begins 20 seconds after the cleanup crew appears.
- The total round duration (from gate opening to Toxin activation) has been reduced from 155 seconds to 90 seconds.
- Class restrictions in the team have been removed.
- The time required to capture a point has been reduced to 7 seconds (except for the "Stadium" location).
- The capture speed of a point depends on the number of people participating in it – the mechanic works similarly to Checkpoint mode.
- During the event, all rewards in TeamFight mode are increased by 50% (including BattlePass experience).
This round of testing for TeamFight mode changes will last until May 12, 12:00 PM Moscow time (Tuesday).
The developers also stated that for LastHero, CheckPoint, and ShootOut modes, the logic where a match was considered invalid if one or more players lost connection and could not return in time has been disabled.
For ShootOut mode, rewards have been adjusted:
- PMC experience for eliminating opponents increased by 2 times;
- Weapon leveling experience increased by 2 times;
- Experience for occupied place decreased.
Balance changes were also introduced in the main Escape from Tarkov. The developers also launched a temporary in-game event on the "Customs" map.
