Marvel Star Enters the DC World: Sebastian Stan Comments on His Involvement in Matt Reeves' "The Batman 2"
The actor is preparing for the role of Harvey Dent in the sequel to "The Batman" starring Robert Pattinson.
Sebastian Stan has for the first time commented on his involvement in Matt Reeves' "The Batman 2". The actor, known for his role as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will play Harvey Dent – the future Two-Face.
In a conversation with Deadline, the actor admitted that he had long wanted to work with Matt Reeves, as he considers him one of his "long-time favorites", and called the upcoming film "very ambitious."
"It's a challenge, like anything else. I think it's a really, really ambitious movie. And if we do it right – and I'm incredibly excited that Matt Reeves is directing, because he's been one of my favorites for a very long time – then I think the movie will just blow people away."
Stan also mused on why superheroes like Batman and Spider-Man continue to remain popular with young audiences decades later.
"If you think about something really positive for young guys, especially when you're a teenager and you're growing up, it's stories about people who feel strange and are trying to find their place in the world. And that works on a very subtle level."
Details of "The Batman 2" plot are still being kept under wraps. Recently, Matt Reeves shared test footage hinting that the action will take place in winter. This immediately led fans to speculate about the appearance of Mr. Freeze. At the same time, according to industry media, the focus will be on the Dent family, including Harvey himself, his wife Gilda, and father Christopher. In particular, these roles are attributed to Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance, but Warner Bros. is not rushing to reveal official details.
"The Batman 2" is scheduled to premiere on October 1, 2027.
