Subnautica 2 to Receive Two Major Updates Soon - Game Development Roadmap for the Coming Months
Developers are preparing new mechanics and other improvements.
Subnautica 2 recently launched in early access. Unknown Worlds Entertainment decided to present a roadmap for the underwater survival game's development in the coming months.
They explained that while major updates with biomes and other content are being prepared, they intend to release "interim improvements":
We plan to release regular updates for Subnautica 2, but not all of them will be the same! These will include system and mechanic improvements, as well as urgent fixes and large-scale updates. While the next major update with new biomes, creatures, resources, tools, vehicles, and story progression is being prepared, we will also release interim improvements.
In Update 1.1, the Subnautica 2 team will focus on quality-of-life improvements and fixes to make the game more enjoyable. For example, a "sprint" feature and improvements to biomod mechanics are expected.
Update 1.2 will be dedicated to improving co-op: voice chat, emotes, player trading, and expanded customization options will be implemented.
In the "future," a patch with new biomes, creatures, resources, additional tools, and vehicles is expected. The Subnautica 2 authors will also continue the story.
