3000 NPCs and Rooftop Parkour: Imperial Palace Scale Revealed in Where Winds Meet
A massive update is coming to Where Winds Meet - the Imperial Palace, comparable in scale to Kaifeng City and featuring 3000 NPCs, will be released at the end of May. The expansion will add new mechanics, a co-op mode, estates, and a new weapon type.
Everstone studio has already released a major Hexi update for Where Winds Meet with new bosses, regions, and story quests, but they are not stopping there. The next expansion has a release date – late May, as announced in the latest Goose News.
The Imperial Palace will cover an area of 1 million square meters. According to the developers, it is "comparable in scale to the vast city of Kaifeng" and includes 3000 NPCs. Inside, players can expect changing seasons (spring and winter), chases across walls and rooftops with parkour, and even "slapping competitions."
In summer, a new weapon type – gloves – will be added to the game. At the end of June, estates will appear in the Qinghe region, along with animal companions. A co-op mode, Martial Path Domain, a multi-story challenge for teams of five players, is also planned.
In the second half of 2026, a new map mode will be introduced in Perception Forest, focusing on treasure hunting in ruins and dark alleys. The developers note that the Imperial Palace will be one of the game's largest updates, where players will interact with factions and uncover conspiracies.
