A Brazilian journalist, who previously collaborated with major publications Omelete and UOL, reported that Rockstar Games allegedly does not intend to send traditional review copies of GTA VI to journalists and bloggers. Instead, the company may organize closed events in secure locations where press representatives can get acquainted with the game without the risk of large-scale leaks.
A similar opinion was voiced in the same Insider Gaming Weekly podcast. YouTube blogger Nukov suggested that GTA VI "will have no previews, no review codes, no early access for the press." However, his words seemed more like a speculation than confirmed information from reliable sources.
If these rumors are confirmed, it will be a significant departure from the practice of past Rockstar releases. For example, for Red Dead Redemption 2, the company still sent review copies to journalists before the release. Nevertheless, given the unprecedented level of interest in GTA VI and the publisher's desire to avoid leaks, such a step seems quite possible.
