GTA VI PRs will demand journalists write an explanatory note if they give a score lower than 10 - rumor
It seems some just give "10 out of 10" to avoid problems.
Recently, journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe shared an "inside scoop" about enhanced security measures for preparing Grand Theft Auto VI reviews. Allegedly, to prevent leaks, Rockstar Games plans to organize a closed event where reviewers can study the game.
A former IGN employee, Jeremy Conrad, noticed the publication about the "insider." He commented on social media, noting that for the previous two GTA installments, press copies (keys / discs) were also not sent out.
In addition, Jeremy spoke about the consequences for reviewers who give Grand Theft Auto less than "10 out of 10" — they will have to write an explanatory note. According to the journalist, some simply give a "ten" to avoid this procedure:
If your publication is not on the "blacklist" (for example, for too low a score for GTA V), Rockstar sends a representative of your publication to a so-called "review camp," where they will play the game under Rockstar's supervision. After this "camp" is completed, Rockstar's PR department requests the final score. If it's not "10 out of 10," the reviewer is obliged to write a special review for Rockstar, explaining in detail why the game does not deserve the maximum score. Most reviewers eventually just give in and give a "ten" to avoid this.
Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in November of this year.
