
Fortnite Returns to App Store Worldwide After Six Years - Russia Also on the List
The battle royale is once again available to iPhone and iPad owners worldwide.
Epic Games announced the return of Fortnite to the App Store worldwide after almost six years of absence. The battle royale is once again available to iPhone and iPad users, including the Russian segment of the Apple store.
Fortnite disappeared from the App Store in 2020 after Epic Games integrated its own payment system into the game, bypassing Apple's commission. In response, Apple removed the project from the store, and the conflict quickly escalated into one of the most high-profile lawsuits in the gaming industry.
Fortnite's return does not signify a truce between Epic and Apple. The companies continue to dispute App Store rules, commissions, and third-party payment systems, with Epic presenting the game's return as proof of the effectiveness of years of pressure on mobile platforms.
In a statement on the occasion of Fortnite's return, the company expressed confidence in a favorable outcome of the ongoing litigation and once again criticized Apple:
"When Apple is forced to disclose its costs, governments around the world will not allow Apple's junk fees to persist"
Fortnite had previously returned to Google Play. In March 2026, Epic Games and Google announced an agreement after several years of litigation.
