Best Console Version: IO Interactive Reveals Technical Details of 007 First Light on PS5 Pro
The game will be released by the end of May not only on consoles but also on PC.
IO Interactive has revealed new technical details for the spy action game 007 First Light for PlayStation 5 Pro owners. The developers confirmed that the game will run at 60 frames per second and will support an improved version of PSSR technology right at launch.
According to the studio, the updated PSSR significantly improves image quality in dynamic scenes. Special attention is paid to the stability of small details — foliage, hair, environment geometry, and other objects that often suffer from flickering during camera movement. As a result, the picture becomes clearer and more stable even during James Bond's fast movements through levels.
IO Interactive Technical Director Henrik Schlichter noted that the new version of the technology provided "a significant leap" in image quality on PS5 Pro. According to him, the game looks cleaner, more stable, and noticeably sharper in details that are difficult to render.
Rendering Engineer John Rocatis added that integrating the improved PSSR took the team only about one day. The developers did not have to manually adjust individual scenes — the technology worked stably throughout the game almost immediately after implementation.
IO Interactive also confirmed the use of AMD FSR 3.1.5 as the primary upscaler on all platforms. However, the exact resolution of the graphics modes for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S has not yet been disclosed.
007 First Light will be released on May 27 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S.
