Outward 2 Developers Showcased "Potato" Mode for Low-End PCs

The creators of Outward are preparing a sequel to the unusual co-op RPG. The developers announced that Outward 2 will be released in early access on July 7, 2026.

The creators approached the announcement of Outward 2 with humor. In the new video, “Mr. Potato” appeared, advertising the game as a project suitable even for low-end PCs.

The game will feature an ultra-low graphics preset called Potato. With it, Outward 2 runs at 720p and 30 fps on graphics cards like the GTX 750 Ti. For 1080p on low settings, a GTX 960 and 8 GB of RAM will suffice.

For Ultra settings in native 4K, the developers recommend an RTX 4080, Ryzen 7700, and 32 GB of RAM.

The authors specifically emphasized that they abandoned Unity and ported the game to the Unreal Engine 5, which is often criticized for poor optimization.

The closed beta starts on May 26 and will run until June 8. To participate, you need to register on the publisher's website.
