Some companies continue to implement Denuvo in their games. Before the launch of the new James Bond game, information about the presence of DRM with a not-so-good reputation appeared.

The full release of 007 First Light on consoles and PC is scheduled for May 27. Shortly before this date, the game's Steam page was updated, and soon some gamers were very indignant.

The fact is that IO Interactive added the infamous protection system for the PC version:

Third-party DRM protection: Denuvo Anti-Tamper

The game's Steam page does not yet contain information that the number of activations per day is limited. When playing on Linux / Steam Deck, Proton is used, and from the system's point of view, switching the version of this "layer" is considered an activation on another device — with multiple switches, the game launch (if there is a daily activation limit) will be temporarily blocked.

IO Interactive's decision — the company is both developer and publisher — to add Denuvo right before the release of 007 First Light did not please some PC gamers. Messages from dissatisfied users are appearing on the Steam forum, who have canceled their pre-order or are now refusing to buy the game due to the presence of this DRM.

The game trailer is available here.

It also recently became known that some players already have 007 First Light discs, but it will not be possible to play before the release.
