According to the creators, the second season will transport viewers to 1935 and tell the story of the Bradley gang.

HBO has not yet officially renewed “It: Welcome to Derry,” but the series creators are already discussing the project's future. Showrunners Andres and Barbara Muschietti revealed what themes they plan to develop in the continuation.

In an interview with IndieWire, Andres Muschietti explained that the first season was built around the idea of “using fear as a weapon.” In new episodes, the creators want to move to “using faith as a weapon” and “using love as a weapon.”

Muschietti previously stated that future seasons will continue to explore Derry's history through Pennywise's 27-year cycles of appearance. The second season, he said, will transport viewers to 1935 and tell the story of the Bradley gang. The third season will take place in 1908 and will be connected to the Kitchener Iron Works disaster, where many children died during an Easter egg hunt.
