Mewgenics Authors Made Parasites Control Cat Minds - Major Update 1.1 Released
The developers revised the characteristics of most classes, adjusted the balance of abilities, and introduced changes to the pet breeding mechanics.
Tyler Glaiel and Edmund McMillen have released update 1.1 for Mewgenics — the first major patch since the release of the unusual tactical "cat roguelike." The developers have significantly reworked the balance of classes, heredity mechanics, and mutation system, as well as introduced dozens of changes to events, enemies, and the interface.
Mages and Mechanics received the biggest buffs. The former had their base range for standard attacks and most combat spells increased, and the pure damage from some magical abilities was boosted. Mechanics saw reduced mana costs for engineering skills, enhanced passive abilities, and improved AI performance.
The balance also affected Hunters, Clerics, Thieves, and Monks. Hunters had some abilities weakened, and "Fan Shot" became more expensive and now hits allies. Other classes received smaller, more targeted changes.
The patch also weakened inbreeding: with close-relative breeding, the chance of getting a kitten with severe birth defects now gradually increases, while the beneficial effect of stimulation decreases.
Some unique disorders have also been reworked. For example, if a cat loses all intelligence due to the Naegleria Fowleri parasite, it no longer starts the fight defeated. Instead, the character falls under the automatic control of the infection.
In addition, the update improved random events, adjusted the health of some enemies, and added a backpack button to the trade screen. A full list of changes can be found at the following link.
