The publisher of Grand Theft Auto VI continues to monitor fan creations.

Recently, lawyers for Take-Two / Rockstar Games turned their attention to another unofficial multiplayer for Grand Theft Auto V. This time, the RAGE:MP project was targeted.

The developers announced the closure of the platform for multiplayer servers – they received a request from the GTA V publisher:

We are compelled to provide an important update regarding the future of RAGE:MP. Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have made it clear that FiveM is the sole authorized platform for GTA V multiplayer modding under their Platform License Agreement (PLA). In accordance with this policy and at the request of Take-Two, the RAGE:MP project is beginning a phased shutdown. We ask all server owners to cease their operations and transition to FiveM.

Effective immediately, the creators of RAGE:MP are discontinuing public access to their tools. By June 1st of this year, the public server list will be disabled and become unavailable.

Servers will continue to operate until the end of August:

The end of platform support is scheduled for August 31, 2026. It is expected that by this time, RAGE:MP support will be completely discontinued as the community's activities wind down. All remaining servers must cease operations by this date.

Earlier this year, the developers of the alt:V project announced its closure. The public server list has been unavailable since early May, and full platform support is scheduled to end on July 6, 2026.
