007 First Light topped the Steam sales chart, surpassed Forza Horizon 6, and showed the best start for IO Interactive

The spy action game 007 First Light took first place in the global Steam sales chart by revenue, surpassing Counter-Strike 2 and the recent racing hit Forza Horizon 6. In addition, the peak online of the new game on release day for pre-order holders reached 55,853 people.

This is the best launch result among paid releases in IO Interactive's history. For comparison, the basic paid version of Hitman 2 attracted only 13 thousand concurrent players at launch, and an anomalous peak of 361 thousand was reached in 2018 thanks to a free Christmas mission.

The full release of 007 First Light for all categories of buyers will take place today, May 27, at 5:00 PM Moscow time.

On Metacritic and OpenCritic, the project's average score settled at 87 and 88, respectively. The first buyers on Steam also received the game warmly: it currently has 91% positive reviews. In reviews, the new product is most often called a successful hybrid of Hitman mechanics and the cinematic quality of Uncharted 4. Players praise the plot, gameplay, Bond atmosphere, and excellent optimization of the Glacier engine. Among the shortcomings, rough animations and a drawn-out prologue are noted.
