Elias Toufexis Criticizes Marathon-Concord Comparisons and Destiny 2 Fan Hate
The voice actor is tired of social media toxicity and urged dissatisfied players to "vote with their wallets."
Actor Elias Toufexis, known for his role as Adam Jensen in the Deus Ex series, complained about the atmosphere on Twitter/X. The reason was the incessant hate directed at Bungie's extraction shooter Marathon, where Toufexis voices an “Assassin” class character.
In an interview with PC Gamer, the actor noted that he is not against constructive criticism but does not understand people who spend hours posting memes wishing for the new game's failure and comparing it to Concord.
"Life is so short, man. Just stop posting memes for six hours under posts. Criticize the game? Criticize my work? That's absolutely acceptable. But there are people who go on Twitter and post memes: 'This is Concord 2, this is Concord 2.' Why do you spend hours on this... How can you even hope for something to fail?"
The actor admitted that the dissatisfaction of Destiny 2 fans is understandable, but urged the audience to express their protest civilly.
"I understand that Bungie made Destiny 2, which people loved, and then they kind of said, 'We're going to put this aside and work on Marathon.' People got upset about that. Fine, don't play Marathon. It's okay, vote with your wallet, that's fine."

According to Toufexis, due to the enormous amount of senseless negativity, he tries to visit social media less often and is even considering giving up Twitter/X entirely.
